A downloadable prototype game for Windows

Tentacle Towers is a prototype concept for an experimental game that mixes the genres of Tower Defence and Rhythm games.

You place tentacular towers to defend your giant alien self from the human military, but obviously your tentacles can't fight by themselves!
Each tower is assigned a key on your keyboard and you need to press the right key in time with the beat to attack.

Gain money to then upgrade your towers using one of two possible upgrade paths, or buy new towers.

This is a proof-on-concept prototype, nowhere near polished or complete to be released as a full game. But it's playable, so I thought someone out there might enjoy trying it out.

This prototype was developed fully in GameMaker and uses graphics created specifically for the game. The music is composed by the great Eric Matyas and is freely usable by all on www.soundimage.org. All sound effects are free-use effects from Pixabay.

I hope you enjoy or are at least intrigued by this concept.

Install instructions

This prototype is available as a .exe file for Windows. I haven't tested any other systems, but I imagine it works on Linux too.
